Weekly Update June 11th

Hello again Chroniclers and welcome to this weeks weekly update!

Today were talking adversaries. Everything from a lowly slime all the way to fearsome dragons! The world of CoU may be going through an industrial revolution but the land is still plagued by all sorts of magical creatures and entities.

While drew inspiration from various mythologies as well as other popular role playing games, we wanted to present something unique to the player as well. For example our slime monsters aren't the cute "Hershey kisses" slimes you might be used to and instead look more like this:

Aside from the usual giant rats, bats, and the undead we included variants on classic enemies such as the vampire. While vampires in the more traditional sense do exist in the world of CoU, various subspecies do as well. One such is the Strigoi.

The Strigoi's origin is rooted in Romanian myth and is actually considered to be just as much a troubled spirit as it is a blood sucking creature of the night. It has different interpretations but the loss of blood and the ability to shape-shift is common among them.

The strigoi in CoU are vampires that have succumbed to their blood lust by way of indulgence or starvation. The end result is an animal, devoid of the intelligence and emotion of what it was before. Now it seeks only to feed and breed just like any other wild animal. While not entirely commonplace they can be found in southern Uneskian forests or in the frost covered woods beyond the capital.

This method of creating unique creatures naturally extends to dragons, demons, etc...but we don't wan't to reveal to much so soon.

Check back next week where we will talk about the history of Uneskia, such as its founding, its native inhabitants and of course magic!
